I'm the middle of our building project. I'll provide another review when the project is done. The sales process with Kevin Dant of General Steele was very good. Kevin was professional and responsive. He pulled in the people we needed and helped me understand the various aspects of the project and quote.

Had a issue with some missing items. After talking to Bruce, him and his team resolved everything. I will definitely come back when I need more buildings next year, just because of their awesome customer service and his willingness to make sure everything was right and that we were happy with everything. If you have any issues make sure to talk with Bruce or his team at the building services group and they will take care of any problem you have. Can't thank them enough!!!

When we decided to look into a small expansion in space for our business we found General Steel. This is something I had zero experience in, and since first talking with my sales rep Brian I was assured they would work with me every step of the way. True to his word on that, everyone from that point on patient, understanding, and pleasant. They have earned my return business should I decide to build in the future.

So far I have extremely happy with General Steel. I initially sent out multiple quotes via different websites and General Steel was the first and the fastest response. I worked with Joanie in the sales department to get a quote. She was extremely friendly and spent lots if time over multiple different phone calls to make sure her quote would have everything I wanted in my building. Her customer service is fabulous and she has a very energetic attitude. She spent time explaining what changes to the building increases cost and ways to save money on the building. The customer service was the biggest factor in my decision to use General steel for my building project. After finalizing the order is was then paired with Ryan Burgess for final planning. He has also been extremely helpful. He is fast to respond to emails and phone calls. He understood what I was looking to do with my building and was able to help me make all the design changes needed. Currently my building is still in production and I hope to receive it in early November of 2018. If the customer service I have had so far is any indication, I'm sure I will be extremely satisfied with my building. I would definitely recommend General Steel to anyone looking to purchase a steel building.

We contacted General Steele and Carl called us right back to answer all of the questions we had. After our initial conversation, we had a local contractor come out to give us a bid. The bid was for a comparable size building, but the quote made us realize that the prices Carl had quoted us were much more reasonable and we would have a better structure. Carl's reassuring attitude and demeanor made us feel comfortable in our purchase.

Rex and Steve are superb. Their duo approach both answered all my questions and gave me the comfort level to go ahead and order a 40 X 60 building months early. I am very impressed with the attention to customer satisfaction as I start the process of finalizing the design.Update — the building is now my long awaited wood shop. The building is working very well. Note the insulation, doors and windows all add up. Add the foundation costs to the rest to get the overall building costs. My only complaint was the limited options General Steel had in recommending an installer. He was substantially higher than others in the area. Think through the whole project from building, extra features, foundation, and installation costs. Finally, understand General Steel is a broker of buildings. My building was constructed by another manufacturer to General Steel specs. The doors, windows, and insulation was all acquired local and shipped under their invoice.

As a retired professional pilot I need a place to keep toys (airplanes), So I contracted with General Steel to build me a toy box (hangar). So far I have worked with Denny Kirk and Billy Durnham and their customer service has been great. I trust the completion and delivery of my hangar will be just as good. Looking forward to playing in my toy box!

The staff of General Steel have been so helpful and patient with us, as we design and plan the replacement of our garage that was destroyed by the recent Camp Fire in northern California. When Karl helped us place the order, he provided all of the extra information to help us determine which type of building would suit our needs. When Ryan helped with the extra components, he was able to get us a discount to help pay those extra costs. Now, we look forward to the engineered plans and the fabrication from them. We have family and friends who have volunteered to help build it, and General Steel has the staff to walk us thru the erection. We are very excited to have a garage again that we can use to stage our home rebuild.

I've yet to have the building delivered but I can say that I had an excellent sales experience with Jason Borchardt. That goes along way for a lot of people.

It was an all around pleasant experience. Ryan Burgess was my project coordinator, he was very helpful and always responded in a timely fashion. Meagan my shipping coordinator was very friendly and attentive. She made sure everyone was in the loop and schedules met. One thing General steel should advise customers to do, because I didn't think of it at the time is to hold off on having insulation delivered until needed. I scheduled the building to be delivered and was just checking things off my list so I had the insulation delivered as well. Here i sit months later with no building built due to my county taking their sweet time. Now my fingers are crossed that mice didn't make a $20,000 home out of my insulation.

General Steel took excellent care of us. Every person I dealt with was communicative, professional and efficient. They listened and understood my requests and exactly what I was asking for with logic and timeliness. Because they always responded quickly it was comforting to know we were being taken care of. I especially have to thank Bruce Graham in the contracts department for his ability to address my concerns with patience and compassion. The cohesiveness of General Steel's team was evident from the very start of my order and I immediately recognized that this was a genuine and well run company that did not engage in high pressure sales, but rather had a philosophy of clearly putting customer service first. I thank them again, it is rare fo find a company that truly cares this much.

Five stars does not seem to be enough stars for General Steel! We contacted several companies to get bids. All were way more expensive than GS. Our salesman, Ryan Clark, gave us recommendations that saved us, like considering a larger standard building that was less expensive than the odd size that we first talked about. Ronald Lamping, Daphne Yakobson & Megan Nylander helped us through the paperwork. But extra stars need to go to Jonah Goldman for all the help "do-it yourselfers" needed. If Jonah did not have the answer he would "find out & get back to you", which he did.If there was any glitch, it was a few miss labeled parts. But a quick call & everything would be explained so we could correct it.It was a Big project but with all the help it went smoothly. If we were 15 years younger we would do it again! And to Bruce Graham, thanks for using our photos.

We appreciate Ben Lombards help and knowledge around what we were looking for. We of course are on a tight budget and GS bet all the companies that we spoke with. My husband and I were planning on building a "normal" (stick built) house on our property out in the country, but after the bid from the contractor came back more than double of what we wanted to spend, maybe due to all the turmoil going on in the world in so many ways, we decided on plan B and we will build our dream home/barndominium. We have seen the ad's for General Steel on FOX News and went to their website to request a bid on a Saturday. The first thing was an almost instant automated email with a video of explanation and then Joanie Brown called first thing Monday morning. She has been awesome. Combined with the great customer service and the warranties, I don't think they can be beat. Thank-you, looking forward to a seamless process going forward.

The staff is extremely responsive to phone calls and emails. My sales consultant, Joanie Brown, is awesome! She didn’t lie or push me into getting something I didn’t need, like most sales people do. I worked with Josh Schaefer initially when I called. I was just getting quotes in order for me to build storage units. Josh was excellent to work with. I called multiple times with several questions as I was going through the process figuring out everything with my business venture. I ordered 11,000 sq. ft. worth of building. Josh gave me a great price to sq. ft. for me to figure my numbers on to determine how much of a building I could buy with the funds I had available. His estimates were accurate for when it came time to purchase. After the down payment I've been worked with closely along the way by the rest of the team who has been quick to follow-up and be there as I've had questions. Jonah Goldman was the next person I was passed to for the construction phase of the project and he's been excellent! Everyone I've worked with has been so great. I've already recommended them to several family and friends of mine. I would highly recommend them to anyone else. They fabricate high quality steel buildings throughout the whole United States.

General Steel is an awesome company to work with. From the initial phone call with Ryan and Denny to the fabrication of my 30X30 building they have answered all the questions along the way. Worked with Alex inquiring about steel building prices and features. He was very helpful, answering all of my questions. I think this will be the shop I always wanted!

A+ goes out to General Steel! I have ordered from them before and am super happy with the warehouse I got in the past. With my new project, I reached out to get quotes on several different sized warehouses to see what would work best for me. Logan Jones helped me throughout the process and was phenomenal! Logan was by far one of the best reps I have ever worked with on any project. We ended up settling on a 50' x 100' warehouse to the exact specs I needed. I would definitely recommend General Steel and working with Logan!!!!

My wife and I are building a new business from the ground up. So far it's started off perfect by picking the right building company. Tyler Selvey was my second salesman and he answered all my questions within a few minutes. He was accurate and honest. We took an extra month due to a longer closing on our land. I purchased a 50x30 for my house along with a 20x24 building for my garage. Initially I worked with Alex, who made things very very easy for me. He held on patiently for the better part of 3 months while I asked for quotes from several different building sizes/dimensions and was very quick to answer any questions. Since ordering the materials I’ve been working with Bill, who has also been awesome to work with as well! All in all, after all the questions and requested quotes I’ve thrown at them, I couldn’t ask for better gentlemen to work with on something that I’ve been wanting to get done for years.

I purchased a metal building that was 30‘ x 24 x 14 for a garage/shop at my house. When I called I was speaking with Andy Fiero, project consultant and he helped me on my way. Some of the things I may think about, what do you expect and some of the things that I want. Andy was a great help in finding the package that I needed for the Snow load, wind load and insulation that was very affordable and got me a building package before the cost of the metal went up and save me some money. I would recommend Andy to anyone buying a metal building. Thanks again and Andy

The sales rep. Answered all my questions right away and explained everything in detail. Laid all the cards out on the table, and got me a quote same day within 2 hours.everyone else was almost a 2 day wait just for the quote. I hands down will recommend this company to anyone and will be returning to them myself for our massive build project in 3 years.

I had a wonderful experience working with Alex at General Steel. He was knowledgeable and knew exactly what I was looking for and made this a very easy process for us. Having been in the industry myself for over 30 years it makes it nice when l don’t have to explain what I’m looking for, instead I just told him I needed an 80’x80’x22’ simple building and he did the rest. The first person I talked with, Andy, addressed my questions in a very professional and personable manner. Even though General Steel deals with requests for buildings that are 100x200 or larger, Andy made me feel that my 24x30 building was very important to him. He got back to me within a half hour, with an amazing quote. I am now a happy General Steel customer.

We were moving across the country and need more space for our company. General Steels prices were not only very competitive, but the team helping with all aspects of the purchase have been a pleasure to work with. Several questions have been answered by the team, always with a positive response. We did have an issue with incorrect pricing on some of the paperwork, but that was quickly corrected without question. David B. did an outstanding job of providing service on the front end of the process, including pricing and answers to various questions specific to the build design. The building is 100' x 140' and has taken the input from several General Steel personnel in different positions to complete the process. Looking forward to future projects with General Steel.

Update! I spoke too soon. Andy was great. All went well on the front end (of course to get my business). After the contract was signed, They quoted me an install price of 22,000. I called the installer but he was non responsive, General Steel referred me to another installer that quoted me 46k and then never returned phone calls. I had to arrange my own installer at the last minute. Then, the garage doors I ordered were rollup doors. They sent sectional garage doors. After multiple calls and emails, they said “sorry, we cannot help you other than give you our price on rollup doors”.One of my windows was delivered shattered. It was in a crate with other windows that were plastic wrapped. I opened the crate and counted the windows but still wanted them protected because they weren’t ready to be installed. Go to install them one was shattered. General Steel was absolutely no help other than passing on the problem to the manufacturer which basically called me a liar. The manufacturer ended up paying for a third of cost of the window “ coming out of his own pocket” to help. I had to order and have a window installed for over $500.Absolutely terrible customer service on the back end. I cannot fathom a multi million dollar company help out a small customer.Oh I did say, “I was going to have you supply my house”, then and only then did the VP say “oh, well I can help out on the price to offset the issues”. Yeah sure, get me in another contract to work me over! Nope!I've asked and received several quotes on red iron buildings for my 40x60x18 shop. Without a doubt, General Steel was the most professional, responsive, and willing to work with me than any of the others. Andy Fiero was committed to working with me and providing me with all the information and pricing I needed prior to making a decision! My house is next. I'll definitely call Andy and the General Steel team for the build!

I just stared the process of purchasing a steel garage, and the first thing i noticed was how great the customer service was. I feel like I'm never waiting for for a response, rather they are waiting for my next action.I was set up immediately with a coordinator to work out the details on my build, and never felt rushed or unknowable - even though i didnt always know what certain things meant - they were always patiently explained to me.Great experience so far, and i can't wait to see the final results

We purchased a 50’ x 80’ steel building from General Steel to store our 45’ motor home, bronco, and miscellaneous household items. We worked with Andy Fiero and Ryan Burgess to develop a reliable quote and select a sub-contractor to erect the building. Both gentlemen have been quite responsive and helpful in getting project underway. I would highly recommend GS to supply your building needs!

Andy Fiero Was a please to work with. He knew his product well and was able to handle all my questions and concerns. I definitely would recommend General Steel and Andy Fiero. My decision to purchase my 36x60 building from General Steel and not one of the other companies I was getting quotes with ended up coming down to Andy Fiero being so helpful and resolving some of my concerns.

I paid 22 hundred dollars for design services to get me drawings that the bank would loan on. They gladly took my money and provided me a drawing that appeared to be drawn by a grade schooler. They then told me over and over that I had to give them a deposit in order to get drawings that the contractor and bank would actually need. They were not at all straight forward about this at the beginning, they even wanted me to pay 6500 dollars to get their crayon drawings in color! BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE SALES AND DESIGN TEAMS!! They were not concerned for my needs, only making money. They took offense at me telling them they had ripped me off. My bad that I did not understand their tricky contract, but their bad for not helping me understand before stealing my money!!After leaving this review, but probably not because of this review, the manager contacted me and provided plans enough that I could get quotes for construction and get the loan process moving again. Bruce was understanding and worked with me. I have changed my stars from 1 to 4 and am pleased with his response. Thanks.

While I did encounter a few hicups along the way. Bruce Graham was able to assist in taking a negative situation and turning it into a satisfactory one. General Steel WILL take care of their customers. Thank you Bruce.

I am beginning the construction process. Of the 4 or 5 companies that I have engaged, by far GS is superior to the rest in terms of customer services and responsiveness. The rep I am working with, Connor, has been a delight to interact with. As I continue this project I have peace of mind and confidence knowing that GS is a part of this Team.

I called General Steel to get a quote for a 44x 55 foot addition to a diesel shop. They were very responsive with the quote and there quote was the best. The salesman passed me on to a project manager and he took it from there. We discussed all aspects of the building and it's use to finalize the order. I was pleased with the service and responsiveness and would buy from them again.

As with all things requiring a contract to be signed, be sure to get everything in writing before signing. That said, Bruce is easy to chat with and a clear communicator. He is dedicated to customer satisfaction.

Update....we got contacted by one of the managers, and we are getting some help now, that is appreciated and hope that things are getting. .....Totally misleading company. We went with them as they said they are a "one-stop shop" sending contractors to erect our 40x60 building, also for the concrete work. None of it came through. Very unhappy, they just want your money, very sad. No follow through after they had our money. We will not be using them on our 60 x 80 building...no way.

This review is based on the phone call I just received -( I submitted a quote request online) The man who called me was very short with me. Gave me a quote on 40x50 no other details..for $25k (which is fine I’m not complaining about price) However the salesperson was rude. He only asked when I’d like to do this I responded winter this year which he responded is too far out for him to know price of steal(again if that’s how it is that’s fine) but he Definitely doesn’t seem interested in trying to sell. Hung up on me before I could ask any questions

Buyers beware! If you order one of their package units, you probably won't have problems. But, if you make any changes to their prefab package expect long delays and huge price increases. You will find the salesman cheery and pushy. He will tell you no problem, we can do that! You will later find out that it's a lot extra. The real fun starts when the salesman is done with you. General Steel has had my deposit for 2 months and still no final drawings. All I get is delays and increases. I'm giving them 2 stars in hopes that I can revise my review of them later.

Based on the great pictures posted on the website and the rave reviews, I decided to contact them to contact them about church building prices. The young lady that answered the call initially was very pleasant. After I told her what I was calling about, she transferred me to one of the design specialists. When the guy answered the phone, he sounded friendly but that was short lived. Within the first few seconds as I began to talk, the guy (I wish I remembered his name) released an obvious "sigh" as if he did not want to talk to me. Ignoring the sigh, I hesitantly continued with my inquiry. His response wreaked of irritation and a desire to get me off the phone as soon as possible. Admittedly, he was very effective in that effort. Based on the vibe alone during my brief call, I would never do business with them. Rarely do I post negative reviews, but this was certainly warranted. Maybe this guy was having a bad day and I was not privy to speak to one of the others people spoke so highly of in the reviews.

Their designers were incredibly incompetent. We sent detailed verbiage and included pictorial references and still they could not even remember to include entire sections of the building. Refused to refund even the unusable interior design cost. An additional fee which they added on to our bill. RUN!

Im going to use a list format. Staff does not provide information that they say they will. Any time you call them there is a sale that ends in a week. Always in a week. High pressure sales tactics. Over priced. Will hang up on customer mid sentance. The prices on the same exact building from the examples on the site chan each time you call by up to 10k. Will have you added to robo calls. The last is just over the top.

Wish we could give them zero stars. Submitted for an estimate to build a horse arena on our property next year. Salesman, Jon Flight, called my husband and basically told him that we weren't worth his time if we weren't building this year and hung up with no answer or goodbye. So false advertising on their free bid/estimate claim and RUDE customer service.Good news is that we found another fantastic company! We'll be using Great Western Building to build our 100 x 200 fully enclosed arena & barn! They've been fantastic answering our questions and giving us estimates on time and cost.In closing: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH GENERAL STEEL CORP.

I’ve emailed and called numerous times regarding a quote with no reply. If your looking for a steel building, find a local supplier that will respond to you. If I can’t get a response from a sales person, why trust them to respond during construction.

Was talking with Denny to get a quote, he was supposed to send stuff over the internet and never did. He just called me, gave me a price and I told him I'm still looking at qoutes and in mid sentence he hung up on me. I guess when you say no your not worth there time any longer. Horrible customer service!

Originally was shopping around and worked with Salesman named Steve and had a good experience. About 2 months later I went back to get an updated quote and proceed to buy a building and was told he had left and was forwarded to a salesman named Chase. Unfortunately Chase was pushy and only wanted to talk bad about other companies I was looking at which was the start of the red flags. Then once he started sending me quotes he would not send me an accurate quote and it was filled with mistakes such as wrong eave height then increased the price twice because he continued to get stuff wrong. Today he called and I told him I went with another company he asked where then scoffed and said good luck and hung up. Its sad to see such poor salesmanship and customer service when in his first phone conversation he bragged for 10 minutes about all of his "experience".

Get everything in writing before signing a contract! Better yet, just don't use General Steel.Josh in Sales assured me that customer satisfaction was the driving force at General Steel. Based on that assurance and a tight timeline to replace a building that was destroyed by a wildfire, I gave a deposit for a building that Josh at General Steel understood still required changes. As soon as the deposit was paid, Josh disappeared and I was passed off to Jonah Goldman. On two occasions, while attempting to fix the plans to what Josh and I had previously agreed upon, Jonah took greater than a week to respond to my emails and was rude when I was finally able to make contact. Change orders and demand for additional payment from Jonah came next, despite Jonah's failure to even incorporate all the changes I asked for.Read all the reviews. General Steel isn't the great company they claim to be. "100% Customer satisfaction" is simply a marketing term used by General Steel to get your money. Please don't fall for it like I did.

I'm in the middle of clearing land for a 40x60. I'm calling around and getting quotes for the building. I spoke with Denny and he said he'd call me back. He called back next day and gave me the price. Wanted me to do the deal right then and there (Price will go up, blah blah blah). I'm not buying anything without getting quotes from various companies. Told him I appreciate it. I'm waiting on some other quotes and I'd be in touch. He hung up on me/cut me short while I was still talking. I threw the quote in the trash. Seems to me they just want your deposit and then you're yesterdays customer. Just gave me a bad vibe. Not someone I want to deal with on a purchase like this- Tommy B

The one star reviews are accurate. Extremely predatory sales practices, bordering on fraudulent. Look at their BBB rating (1.3 stars). Buyer beware, there are much better companies to do business with.Edit: This company called me, and I actually had a decent conversation with what I believe is the owner. We talked about why I felt the way I did and what could be done to change that perception; however, he never once asked me to remove the review. I then later received a call from someone claiming to be their lawyer stating that they are going to sue me for defamation over the opinions stated in this review. After about 20 minutes of threats and him bringing up my criminal background from 20 years ago when I was a TEENAGER, I hung up on him. Upon further research, I found that the Colorado Attorney General has previously brought legal action against this company for "...deceptive sales and marketing tactics..." As I said in my previous review, BUYER BEWARE. Never in my life have I received a call threatening a lawsuit for a bad review. If I had any doubts about how they do business before, I don't now.

BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE... These people rush you into signing a contract, keep your deposit and do not provide you with a building. You WILL loose your money guaranteed. If you still decide to use them, hire an attorney to read the contract with you because you will find that the contract will only benefit them. They live off of peoples deposits!! Just google "general steel complaints" and you will see just what I am talking about. Many many people lost there money. Don't another one.

I called to get a price on two buildings. The price was double what their website states.I never received an actual quote from them even though they said they sent it!Then they call me harassing me to send something back over signed and to top it off they want 20 percent down with a product that may arrive in 6 or more months! They don’t have to worry about getting my business! The guy said I was playing with them!Meanwhile they are playing with me!Do your due diligence on these guys!

We have been working with General Steel since March 2022 and we were hurried to place deposit on a steel structure. We were told the deposit would lock in a guaranteed price with no steel structure price changes, however we were not informed this was a two week only guarantee. At later date we were told a two week turnaround is impossible for design and confirmation of the structure design. This is a bait and switch. When inquired about refund (minus costs thus far)We were denied. We are extremely displeased, frustrated and highly encourage others to seek other options.I am a contractor with over 27 years of experience and am very well versed in this process.

In the process of building a Barndominium. We contacted this company to assist with the steel structure. We were rushed into putting a deposit for a ‘locked in price’ so our price was ‘locked in’… don’t be fooled, it is not a ‘locked in price’. The deposit was pitched that paying a large deposit would lock in rising steel prices, in addition to our building being shipped in 3-4 months. This is a ‘bait and switch’ to get your money. We have put a large down payment we cannot get refunded and our building will not be ready for ‘projected’ 7 months.

Dealing with General Steel has been one of the worse companies I ever dealt with. They act like they are the best….THEY ARE NOT!!! They do not manufacture, they are a middleman that buys materials from the same company other steel companies buy from in PA.I used someone they told me to use to erect the building. (J&S Quality builders don’t let the name fool you) Wow were they horrible!! I have roof leaks and they just did a sloppy job. One of the reasons we have roof leaks is we have a roof that goes to 60’ , General Steel provided 31’ panels and we have leaks at the overlap. I didn’t know it when I bought but I know now they could have provided 60’ lengths why they did not offer the 60’ lengths I don’t know. They were also not very helpful through the whole process. God forbid you forget something or have to buy something after delivery. They rack you over the coals for the price. We got an overhead door with our system. Parts came wrong and Jonah wanted me to pay for the right parts(avoid JONAH at all cost he is very unprofessional) and then after we settled everything of what we needed, it took over 3 months to get what we needed to install the door. I also am having several other issues that they have been no help. I have been using the company they buy from directly to get what I need to finish this project and they have been very helpful with the issues I have been dealing with.My suggestion is use another company to buy your steel building!!!

General Steel Corporation is not someone you want to engage for your metal building project. They don't even deserve a one-star review. My experience working with their team has been extremely frustrating, shady, and has ultimately resulted in spending tens of thousands of dollars with no delivered product other than dissatisfaction. They have no core values and do not have their client's best interest at heart. Their sole purpose once you sign their proposal to get a "deal" is to pressure you into making decisions and upgrades to avoid price increases on materials, which they provide no documentation to prove when asked. It's all about the hurry up and wait scenario with them, with a financial punishment awaiting the delay created by them. They promised a dedicated project manager, who was Ryan Burgess for our project (a 60'x100' warehouse building). Once we started sniffing out their bait and switch tactics, their VP, Jonah Goldman, took over the conversation with us and completely contradicted what we had been told from Ryan in our multiple conversations. Jonah is defensive and full of lies. A pathetic human being at best with zero professionalism.General Steel is a middle man, not a manufacturer, and they lack basic knowledge of steel building construction and fabrication. Their contract language is entirely one-sided. The paperwork they make you sign to accept delivery of the building waves them of all errors and leaves you stranded if there are any issues with the delivered materials. No accountability. Even after a conversation with General Steel's president, he was only interested in talking through the issues to find a way to keep the deal on the tracks by sharpening their pencil, work with the manufacturer, etc. They would not refund any of our deposit money and as far as I'm concerned, have robbed us of valuable time and resources. I'm sure they'll respond to this review by saying they would like the opportunity to speak with me to attempt to resolve this matter. However, that's already happened and they have no interest in refunding the money we've already given them. For our project specifically:1) Their marketing material associated with our contract showed five structural bays, which is what our architectural drawings reflected during the entire conversation with them. After weeks of discussions, they came back saying they need to up charge us since only four bays were included in our contract, even through five are clearly shown on their document. Also, the gray color we wanted was noted from the beginning conversations and they wanted an insane amount of money for this color change, even though it was expressed from day one.2) We have a foundation wall wrapping two sides of our building, about 6' heigh. Jonah hit us with a $10K+ change order document to sign even though significantly less material was needed to now build the structure, with additional freight charge, due to "increased complexity" of the structure. What? They could provide zero supporting documentation when asked about a price increase for less material other than it is what it is.3)Engineered stamped drawings. We are still waiting for them. They have a contractual obligation to provide these to us.Look elsewhere. General Steel breached our contract and are not willing to do anything to make it right. They should not be allowed to keep the lights on and continue to screw over good humans with good intentions. Not sure how they sleep at night.

We went to General Steel in August of 2021, Tyler took our order. But, Bruce Graham and Jeff Knight were in the room yucking it up with and slapping my husband on the back while telling us how easy this was going to be and they would be there for us to completion of the project. They gave us the name of a contractor that they assured us had been vetted through them. We went with said contractor and ended up being out a lot of money and our nice, expensive Steel building is laying in our yard. I felt that they were "used car salesmen". I would NOT in good conscience refer ANYONE to them. No follow-up and they have been sued enough that they cover their buttons in the contract while telling you they will be there to the the end of project. It is laughable.

Upon requesting a quote via Facebook, I was contacted by a salesperson who exhibited aggressive and unprofessional behavior throughout our conversation. The salesperson's demeanor took a negative turn when I mentioned considering other companies for the same service. This individual resorted to disparaging comments about competitors, which was entirely unprofessional and not conducive to a constructive business interaction.Furthermore, when I inquired about financing options, the salesperson became even more aggressive and ultimately hung up on me. This behavior is unacceptable when dealing with potential customers and reflects poorly on the company as a whole.Overall, my experience with General Steel's representative was disappointing and did not align with the level of professionalism I expect from a reputable company. I hope that General Steel addresses these issues to ensure that other potential customers do not encounter similar unprofessional conduct.

I found General Steel via an ad that instructed me to text a word to one of their phone numbers for various links and phone numbers for more information on the company. It caught my attention since I want to get a building made in the future, just not immediately... A few days later I receive a call, unscheduled and unsolicited, from "Chase", asking about how I texted them and "how they can help". Upon telling them I'm not currently wanting to make a purchase, I was unable to also inform them I want a quote for their services for future reference and future business. Instead, Chase immediately cut me off and said "Alright, let us know when you want to make a move." and hung up on me. Very unprofessional! I won't be doing my business with this company. I've had a better experience so far with Peak Steel Buildings.

After being rushed to sign a contract and send my NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT for a basic building plan, the extra's such as windows and doors will be ridiculously overcharged while your deposit is held hostage. The company shows exclusively the "RED IRON I-BEAM" frame construction in ALL the gallery photos...which is what I wanted. However, after the contract was signed and the final plans were sent, the deception was slipped in. They quoted me for a less quality C-Channel framed building without disclosing any discussion that such a product even existed. All solicitations were for the I-beam frame not the C-Channel frame. They even sent a PDF file of a I-beam framed building noting the "all I-beam" construction and the various color options which I can now pick from. DECEPTION!!! I called and every time was sent to voicemail. Finally talked to Jonah Goldman, executive VP and explained the deception and he said the company just started to offer that product for the last year. I said it would have been nice TO DISCLOSE THAT!!! Jonah then offered to sell me the building that I originally thought I was already under contract for for an additional $19800.00!!! So much for my deposit. See you in court!!! Complaints being filed with BBB, the Federal Trade Commission and the Attorney General. This company has a history of deceptive sales practices and have had suits from the Denver State Attorney General from what I have read. Proceed with extreme caution.
